Friday, early afternoon, just finished my last class before it`s officially the weekend, which it now is, and I figure I`ll celebrate by checking out Santiago`s thrift stores to see if they compare to Heredia`s. It`s been an odd couple days, I`ve been watching more tv since Tuesday than in a long, long time. Down here`s we`ve got CNN, CNN in Spanish, and the BBC, so depending on how much spin I like on my news I usually flip between one of those and the Champion`s League soccer matches. It`s hard to say which is more entertaining, I sure liked watching Inter beat Dortmund but the live shots of Baghdad on fire are pretty exciting too. Today the 8 remaining teams draw to see who plays who, then in a few weeks the next round starts. Damn I love soccer. On Sunday at two I`m rounding up troops to head to the bar and watch Real Madrid play Deportive, they`re one and two in the Spanish league so it should be a bitchin` match.
I dropped that retarded grammar class, instead I spoke with my stylistics professor today about what I can do to learn that last bit of grammar I still lack so she`s gonna bring me some books and shit to study from. All this and I don`t have to sit in class four days a week learning how to write essays in Spanish for the 3rd fucking time. Tomorrow my housemates and I are having a soccer game, they had one last week when I was still down south and apparently it was great fun with everyone beating each other up so I`m pretty excited. This is gonna be my first weekend in Santiago since the first of February. I haven`t been exploring the city enough, hopefully gonna get around to a couple of the museums and sometime next week I really want to go to the cemetery and see the wall with all the names of the people who were murdered during the dictatorship. Finally there`s a punk rock show tonight, pumped to go rock out. My economics professor gave me a B plus on my test which is far better than I deserved but maybe I got bonus points for having to put up with his shitty lectures and bad spanish, who knows. Chile loves the song "I`m never gonna dance again" by George Michael as much as Costa Rica loves "Dust In The Wind." It`s playing right now in the internet cafe. I gotta get out of here.
