Okay, last post before Cuba. itīs late late at night, gotta head home soon and be up early for airport check in, Iīm told Cubana has a ruthless overbooking policy and theyīll bump my ass if Iīm late. plus all the friends going home on group flightsīll be there too.
I dropped some things off at my friendīs apartment earlier and was late getting to the bar to meet Mike. Just for the hell of it, I ran across town and made it on time, whereas if Iīd walked Iīd have been 15 minutes late at least. It felt good running through town, like I havenīt stretched my legs for a while which is true since I havenīt played much soccer in the past month. My transportation has been so different here in Heredia. I walk everywhere and it takes me at least 20 minutes to get anywhere, I havenīt been on a bicycle since I left the states, and Iīm rarely in a car. Itīs like this regression, like I couldnīt find a plainer and cheaper form of getting around town. it feels natural and better, like how I felt after I ditched my car and started riding my bike everywhere, except now I donīt even have to worry about flat tires or anything. The simple life is luring, makes me wonder what kind of farmer Iīd make.
